Man, am I tired! In a really good way, of course. This past weekend has seen a lot of action on the set of "Street Fighter: The Later Years" with Dhalsim and Zangief walking right in on a major battle between two fellow World Warriors. Meanwhile, M. Bison is busy rounding up and training his fighters in an attempt to relaunch and fully reestablish the Street Fighter II circuit worldwide. That will be no easy task with Bison and the participating fighters already marked for death by a corporately corrupted Ryu whose monopoly on the SFII market now seems threatened (as seen in our last episode).
Just finished shooting some more scenes on location yesterday (Tuesday, July 17th, 2007) both in and outside Central Park. Not only is this the most fun series EVER to do but I also get to work with the most fun and most gifted people you'll ever encounter under one creative roof! What an amazing team! I can't even express how happy I am to be back on the set with my fellow Street Fighters! Our Director and DP, Sam Reich and Vince Peone, respectively, executed scenes that are nothing short of AWESOME and that's not a word I toss around lightly (even though the mighty Zangief tends to toss around almost anything lightly)! Producer Jordan Hall let nothing escape his watchful eye even with the massively myriad tasks and responsibilities which he had to oversee. In fact, his only noticeable shortcoming, in my opinion, is that he's so distractingly handsome that I find myself replying to each of Sam's directions with, "Huh? I'm sorry, what?"
Good thing Zangief wasn't driving the cab yesterday or Sam would be saying, "Uh, guys, the scene where you slam the cab into the wall is NOT IN THE SCRIPT!!!"
Production Coordinator Jen Dunlap juggled everything from schedules and supplies to wardrobe and wigs and Production Assistant Steve Cozzarelli is one of the unsung heroes behind the scenes making important contributions to the visuals and other aspects of what you see and hear on the screen but also to the cast and crew directly. Both took such good care of us all that I feel really spoiled now. In fact, last night, after I arrived home from the shoot, I put my hand out expecting a cold drink to be put in it and all I heard was my boyfriend saying, "Get it yourself!"
Our Gaffer and Audio man, John Moustakas and Kurt Seery, respectively, really made it all happen! Many other people to acknowledge, too, and I shall in the coming days.
Finally, after a rollicking day of laughs and high adventure with my co-stars, it was such a beautiful evening that I walked downtown through Central Park with one of my castmates. I'd give his name here but I'm not aware if the casting of Guile is being kept under wraps so I'll have to clear that with Sam. Most of you will recognize him, however, because he's an actor you know and love. Suffice it to say that it must have been strange indeed to see two characters who normally can't stand each other, Guile and Zangief, strolling together through the park!
Once again, it's our Street Fighter heroes who give hope to the world!
Stay tuned!
