I know this is Christmas but, in addition to sending all of you holiday hugs, I'd meant to wish a certain Steet Fighter a Happy Birthday!

This past Sunday, December 23rd, Colonel William F. Guile turned 47.

I'd like to turn things over to my Russian buddy and alter ego to say a few words on behalf of his fellow Street Fighter. The floor's all yours, Zangief!

Yeah! Merry Christmas, dudes!

Did you know that most Russians celebrate Christmas on January 7? It's good that i'm only a half Russian, so i kinda get to celebrate Christmas twice. =) But i stick to traditions of Europeans and Americans.. As well as my father.. Well as i said not all of the Russians, just most of them - that is - all Old Believers and Russian Orthodox Christians

I'll bet Zangief would celebrate on any day that he gets to meet Santa Claus.

In Mexico there really isn't a Christmas. December 25th is more focused on the religion. So it focuses more on the birth of Jesus Christ. When it comes to gifts that's usually on January 6th, Three Kings Day.  Children put their shoes by their window or door in hopes that the Three Wise Men will leave them a gift.

Any correlation that you know of, Sakenomi, for the Three Kings Day falling on January 6th and the Russian Christmas falling on the 7th? I do know that January 5th is the last day of Christmas for most Americans and Europeans. Might that have something to do with it?

Just curious.

Well, January 7 is the day of Birth of Christ, just like we have December 25. It's just because of the Eastern Orthodox liturgical calendar, which is the same as Gregorian Calendar, however the dates that have something to do with religion (like Easter n Christmas) are like in the Julian Calendar or Revised Julian Calendar.. Don't really know. Mostly the difference is 13 days.
