Okay, the new episode is FINALLY up at CH, and i thought it was really good, although i must confess making us wait almost two months for a barely three-minute episode was not a good move. Nice to see Guile back after his dissapearance in the last episode, and i loved Ken's attempt at running down the street.

Oh man, talk about leaving you wanting more! Good fun and definitely over much too soon. Our bone-headed hero Ken's awful sidewalk maneuvering was especially amusing. I like how after all of that shuffling and weaving he still manages to knock that one lady over over and scatter the contents of an entire produce section all over the pavement. Good effects in this one too. Have we seen the end of Blanka's chest hair? Zangief, we've got to get you some longer speaking lines, brother! I'm still too used to eps 1-3, when Zangief and Dhalsim were driving almost all of the story. Oh and Obruno, Guile says something to the effect of, "You Orientals all look alike!" (referring to Ryu and E. Honda.) The joke here is that these characters are portrayed by the same actor.

BJ's got it right about Ryu, Honda and Kevin Yamada.
Notice how Ken could easily have run just off the curb to have avoided those people what with no visible traffic.
I'd mentioned somewhere in this forum earlier how ironic it is that, only AFTER I had really nailed the Russian accent for Zangief, his speaking lines diminished considerably (I think this is the first time in three episodes that he's uttered a word)!
Don't worry, though. Next episode sees Dhalsim and Zangief taking center stage and hitting the streets to fight for and protect their Street Fighter buddies. Amazing how, for once, M. Bison actually qualifies as one of them!
I thought this was way too short, too, especially with so many of the jokes and gags that got cut out! I realize that they're trying not to exceed three minutes but the laughs, in my opinion, would have been worth extending this episode like 3 and 5.
Ah, what could have been. Maybe some of those will turn up in the outtakes segment. Hope so.
I thought Kevin was especially awesome in this episode!

I have been away for a while, but I'm back. Strange how school, life, and the flu seem to take so much time away! Anyhow, I found the last episode REALLY funny but waaaaaaay too short! I was disappointed to have it cut out at a mere 3 minutes after waiting for it for more than a month. I was wondering if maybe it was because they used all the budget up with the tremendous amounts of special effects? I observed 2 hadokens, Chun Li's hyper-kick, and Blanka's electricity. That makes four instances of special effects in this episode! I was hoping Ken would become more of his cocky self again after re-mastering the hadoken. I was not too fond of the fact that he sounded like he was practically crying (or about to) when speaking of Sagat, E-Honda, Blanka, and Vega working for Capcom. Crybaby Ken needs to disappear. Good episode though! I just hope the next one is longer!

My best guess is that the next episode will be considerably longer as it's truly an epic one with so much action and so many scenes.
With all due respect, I think David Fishel is a great editor. It's just that his style differs from that of Sam Reich who was, in addition to so many other titles on our series in its earliest days, our first editor. Sam has a style of editing that somebody should coin, "comic editing", wherein the timing of the joke is achieved through the timing of the cut or edit. Sam's editing style was always one of my favorite things about the show. This time, however, I even noticed a "bad" or botched take make the final cut. It wasn't supposed to. I inadvertently exclaimed "Ryu!", mispronouncing the name by stressing the first syllable rather than the second. I remember telling Vince, 'Whoops!", before trying another take in which I got it right. Also, the rest of the joke was to have Zangief ponder thoughtfully to himself, and say, "RYE-yoo?", using Bison's and Ken's mispronunciation of the name, and then to merely shake his head and say, "I just don't know anymore." That's the way we shot it and it was to be a final payoff to the running gag concerning the various pronunciations of Mr. Hoshi's name. I'm still not certain whether the inclusion of my botched take was intentional or genuinely another mistake. Another component of the same running gag happened in Episode 6 when a practice match between Ken and Zangief is interrupted by the appearance of that whom we thought to be Ryu. Various characters reacted by uttering Ryu's name in various forms of correct and incorrect pronunciation. It was very funny and, again, would have played right into that running gag (I should mention that I'm a big fan of running gags which is very much evident in my own script writing). For some reason that interplay was also cut out. In fact, one of the characters exclaiming Ryu's name in reaction was none other than Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. His was to be the last of the reactions followed by an off-screen voice saying, "Scorpion! Get over here!", making him leave the scene. That, too, was removed from the story.
I think that Ken's uncharacteristic "crybaby" state of mind may have something to do with his still unresolved concern over the fate of Chun Li. That's still his main priority and he still has not determined whether or not she's even alive.
Or, perhaps, early retirement has made a wuss out of him, LOL!
It's funny to me because, one of the very traits that used to annoy me about Ken was his cockiness and arrogance, much of which would get not only himself but his pals Ryu and Chun Li into serious trouble. Now I find myself missing that, too.
Anyway, so glad you're back again, Saubha, and hoping that you're feeling 100% better!
C'mon and rejoin the party, man!

I guess you're right. There is no excuse for that. After all, I've taken many shots to the backside and I never--Okay, we won't get into that.

I really do hope that is the case. SF:TLY is brilliant, and as such needs a fitting ending. Im starting to think of episode 8 as a teaser for the finale now.
