As I prepare to shower and shave this morning, I'm really looking forward to today's shoot on location at a Crunch Fitness gym on the west side of Manhattan right here in midtown. Although "Street Fighter Reunion" is still gearing up for pre-production (these investors take forever!), I still get to play the now 53 year old Zangief in advance of it anyway and also prior to the "Life with Zangief" comedy shorts we also have planned for YouTube and just about everywhere else. This one, however, is a short we're doing for Blinky Productions and directed by Chris Notarile, the son and namesake of the famous art legend whose work provided much of the visual backdrop to my own fantasy and adventure filled boyhood. He's cast me as Zangief in a scene with that sole guardian of the Gates of Hell, wrestling star Brimstone. In today's shoot, Brimstone is being pitted as an MMA fighter against a terrifying and brutal opponent. So badass and formidable is his nemesis in the ring that Brimstone is being coached by no less a badass pulverizer than The Red Cyclone himself, the still powerful (although now somewhat smaller; he's off 'roids) Street Fighter legend, Zangief.

Talk about your Six Degrees of Separation. We're both ex pro drummers. The year he was born (1974) is, in fact, the year that I switched from percussion to drums after my stint in a group called The Evil Eyes. An acquaintance of his, actor, porn star and musician Evan Seinfeld ("Oz"'s Jaz Hoyt on HBO) was also the bassist and vocalist for Biohazard the group that manager Sal Savio had left just before representing my group at that time, Neon Fire. Like Evan, I was also a highly visible figure in adult entertainment as Drummer Bear. Evan's name was Spyder Jonez.

But I digress.

Can't wait to get my (now bare) feet wet as Zangief again in this really funny piece which is being produced for G4 and will be seen worldwide very soon.

This is gonna be a fun day!
